Athletic Therapy

A Certified Athletic Therapist practices in the field of sports medicine, assessing injuries, using contemporary rehabilitative techniques, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitative strengthening as well as supportive taping and bracing strategies to promote healing and prepare athletes for their return to play. In addition to clinical work, Athletic Therapists are also certified First Responders who provide on-field recognition and management of acute traumatic athletic injuries, emergency first aid as well as basic life support.

Olivia graduated from York University with a degree in Kinesiology and Health Science and a certificate in Athletic Therapy. She completed her National Certification Exam and became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2013.

Olivia has a wide range of experience working with teams in a variety of settings such as basketball, hockey, football, rugby, swimming and soccer. She has had the opportunity to work with varsity athletes at York University and Humber College as well as the Toronto Argonauts and the National Ballet of Canada.

Please do not hesitate to book an assessment if you are experiencing pain or discomfort while participating in your CrossFit workouts or have pre-existing injuries slowing you down. Athletic therapists work to get you back to training as soon as possible and help you get the most out of your time at CrossFit Vortex.

Athletic Therapy is covered under several extended health benefit plans and can often be added to a policy at the request of the person insured.
